blueford's parents are desperate to know more about the night an oakland police officer shot and killed their son. and tonight, with help from protesters, their voices were heard. >> we're not leaving here without being dragged out of here. there's hundreds more behind us. and then, there will be thousands. there will be no business as usual until there's justice for alan blueford. >> reporter: protesters demanding a police report about a shooting in may, taking over the city council meeting for the second time. city leaders closed gallery seating and limited the number of people allowed into the meeting. leaving a crowd of protesters in the hall, demanding access. wrestling with police when the gallery doors opened. back inside, alan blueford's mother, shouted for answers when her microphone was turned off. >> it's not right.

>> reporter: hoping to conduct city business, council urged the family to work with city leaders. >> don't just come and yell. that doesn't change anything. come and work with us to change the policies and procedures. >> reporter: after nearly two hours, councilman larry reed handed the family his copy of the police report. a thick document oakland police released today. blueford's mother says it's a shame it took five months to get the answers she needs. >> we want answers. and i feel as his mother, that's my right. >> reporter: a family attorney says blueford had a gun the night he was shot and killed. but said he was not fired. now, the police report was just piece of the blueford case. the district attorney office and the oakland police department is investigating that shooting and will decide if it was justified.

just into our newsroom, oakland is the first u.s. city to offer combination government i.d.s and bank cards to all citizens. city council members voted to give the final go ahead during tonight's session. all residents can get a card. the debit card fax function keeps people from having to carry cash. the cards will roll out in 60 to 90 days. the price will be a one-time fee of $10 for minors and senior citizens and $15 for adults. richmond is considering a similar program. it was standing room only at milpitas city council meeting. the topic, outsourcing the police department.

citizens attended to tell the mayor why they don't think it will work for their city. when the community found out they turned to facebook to gather support against that idea. >> we kind of have become the face of the community. and as a result of that, we've heard a lot of feedback from people that they want to keep those kind of services in this community. >> i have no idea what your financial situations are, where you are looking for money. but do not take it away from our police and fire departments. >> council members agree that outsourcing should be voted on by the people of milpitas. so, they agreed to have a vote on a resolution. he went for a ride on his harley two weeks ago. and he hasn't been seen or heard from since. tonight, friends and family of eric garcia gathered together. garcia is a pastor and a member of the mongold motorcycle club.

george, foul play involved here? >> reporter: that, police are looking at as a missing persons report. that's all they're saying officially on the record. as you said, it's been two weeks. no trace of him. and they gathered here at sacred heart church. >> i really think he's going to come home soon. i really miss him. >> reporter: one by one, family and friends at the sacred heart church prayed for garcia's safe return home. >> it's overwhelming. i don't understand going through this. >> reporter: garcia was seen two weeks ago tonight, leaving his home south of downtown san jose on his harley davidson motorcycle. >> he said he would be right back. and no one has seen or heard from him since. >> reporter: his brother said he was hoping he would show up for

work the next day but never did. >> i knew something was wrong when he wasn't there the next morning. >> reporter: he doesn't have his heart medication with him. >> his lungs will start filling up with fluid. and basically, will drown from the inside-out. >> reporter: garcia's family would not comment on his ties to the motorcycle club. only that they will pursue all leads to find out what happened. >> i went through everywhere in my head. >> reporter: the family has been walking around this neighborhood, passing around flyers, as well as posting them on store windows. if you think you've seen him, call the san jose police. new details into the death of a bay area man. officials in lafayette says the drowning of scott olson over labor day was an accident and they closed the case. his body was found a week later. "the mercury news" reports the

autopsy results that shows when olson drowned, his blood alcohol content was 0.23. that level of alcohol is almost three-times the legal driving limit. he was attending cal poly. new news on a man who tried to kidnap a girl from an elementary school. bradley mrazek was facing several charges relating to that kidnapping case last week. now, he's facing another 18 counts for allegedly hiding in a daily city bathroom where he tried to take pictures of girls. mrazek is being held without bail. he's due back in court for a plea in the san mateo case on october 10th.

the first official debate of the 2012 election is one day away. workers in denver prepared the arena for its place in history. president obama and gop candidate mitt romney step on stage tomorrow night. it will be their first face-to-face meeting in nearly five years. both candidates have taken the debate seriously. romney aides brought two podiums into his hotel conference room for a mock debate. not only is he spending long hours in practice sessions. but he's memorizing a series of zingers to criticize the president. president obama has five mock debates under his belt. he's been practicing under senator john kerry. the president's goals are to keep his answers tight and be aggressive without overdoing it. a new poll in "the wall street journal" shows nearly 40% of registered voters say the upcoming debate are extremely or quite important to help them

determine their vote. you can watch the debate tomorrow night at 6:00. triple digits for the first week of fall. if you were outside or inside, you felt the heat. and the heat is still on tonight. san jose is in the 70s. san jose tied a record from 1986 with a high of 96. let's bring in jeff raineri. not only hot. but some of the hottest temperatures of the year. >> looks like it. as we headed throughout the day, not only of the season but of the past 12 months, this will rank in the top-five hottest days on the first full week of fall. gilroy 107. san francisco at a very sweltering 94. just two degrees away from setting a record in the city. not only interior valleys. but also at the coastline getting hot. that's how rare this heat event was. we're going to get 60s in san francisco for thursday. what about everyone else? here's the setup. a cooler area of low pressure

a final salute and thank you to a redwood city marine who died during world war ii. james sizny crashed during a training mission in 1944. where it happened remained a mystery for 60 years. after a relative of one of the crew members discovered the crash site several years ago, the families received the answer they had been waiting for. in july, his remains for returned to the united states. on thursday, at the arlington international cemetery the crew will be honored and thanked by the government. >> i think it's wonderful. it brings closure to him. you know, you don't know for so many years what's happened to him. and then, they find him.

so, it's a good closure. >> the sergeant was buried in july with full military honors at the golden gate cemetery. a wisconsin anchor woman is attracting attention for how she responded to an e-mail critical of her weight. >> the truth is, i'm overweight. you could call me fat. and, yes, obese on a doctor's chart. but to the person who wrote me that letter, do you think i don't know that? that your cruel words are pointing out something i don't see? >> jennifer livingston has been anchoring the morning news in lacrosse for more than a dozen years now. she sees more than a unhappy viewer, who told her she was not a suitable example for people. livingston sees a bully in the e-mail writer. she told them that parents who complain about the fat lady on the news, are encouraging their own kids to go to school or online and call people names.

at 16, he created an app helping kids to study using flash cards. the 19-year-old is on a hiatus from harvard to work on his latest project. it's a case that allows gamers to use actual controls. his company has been backed not just by a wide of investments, but a two-year, $100,000 fellowship. >> it's nice not to worry about money. >> i had that big aha moment. >> reporter: who at 28, almost lost his left arm. >> if i had to pay medical bills. >> reporter: and just lost two real estate companies. everything changed when he worried about privacy on his phone after the accident. >> i had all these people from the hospital going, basically, through my stuff. that's when the fingerprint security app has been born. >> reporter: the app that uses a fingerprint scan to unlock the

some of our hottest weather. walnut creek, 102. san francisco at 94. and this was the top temperature. the 107 in gilroy. that 107, we had at gilroy, that's going to be dropping down in the 70s through our late week forecast. temperatures going to be dropping down the next 36 to 48 hours. where the current temperatures are, mild across the east bay. 77 in danville. 78 in walnut creek. where the current temperatures are, that's where we're going to be for daytime highs as we approach parts of the weekend. let's take you outside to the sky camera network on this tuesday evening. you can see the haze out here across downtown right now. the air quality's going to improve, especially as we head throughout wednesday and thursday. san francisco, it's fog-free right now. it's gorgeous. i know we want that fog back in here, especially for the america's cup. boaters like that temperature

gradient. they like the wind kicking up. we're going to get that in the forecast. next 48 hours, high pressure that produced all of the heat, we're going to see this ridge lift off to the north. here comes the next player out in the pacific. this area of upper low pressure. not very strong. not holding much rainfall in the next few days. enough onshore flow to get the foggy breeze going. a mix of 60s and 70s in the forecast. also, anywhere from 80s to 90s, as we head throughout wednesday. just get a little slight cooling. as we head throughout thursday and friday, that's when temperatures are going to drop a bit more. at 7:00 a.m., we're looking at clear conditions. wednesday morning, here comes the fog and the cooler wind we expect by 5:00 and 6:00 in the morning. thursday is the day where we will start to get the changes coming on in. as were tomorrow morning, about a 30-degree to 40-degree drop in our temperatures. 55 in santa rosa. from 100 in santa cruz, down to

60 in the morning hours. 66 in san jose. maybe a light jacket to start. through the afternoon on wednesday, we're not going to cool off too much again. just slight cooling coming our way. 92 in sunnyvale. 88 in san jose. 90 in morgan hill. and for the east bay, we'll find widespread heat. 79 in alameda. 74 in san francisco. and 72 in pacifica. on your three-day forecast, here we go. numbers going down by thursday and friday into the low 80s. for the upcoming weekend, we're going to put 70s back on the board for saturday and sunday. take a look at was head into monday and tuesday of next week. we have this chance of showers. right now, the gfs, global forecasting model, is showing a better chance of some showers possibly by next tuesday. maybe able to put a rain icon by next tuesday. cooler weather by this weekend.

you can't get smoked salmon at costco anymore. there's a major recall after hunters became sick in the netherlands from salmonella. the company supplied salmon to the chain. it pulled the fish from its stores yesterday. the centers of disease control says it's counted more than 100 cases of salmonella in 27 u.s. states since july. and it's investigating whether there's afection to the foppen company. no one has died. but ten people have been hospitalized. how about this? google is flexing its muscle. they're tight ing their grip on
